How we price your repair

Each repair job at StitchCrazy Alberta is as unique as the item itself. We don't have standardized prices because some repairs are simple, while others are complex. Our quotes are carefully based on two main factors: the materials required and the complexity of the job. This ensures you get a fair price for the precise work needed.

Factors influencing your quote

When you request a quote, several elements can influence the final price. For example, a boat cover repair might initially seem straightforward from a photo. However, upon closer inspection, we might find that snaps are in the way of a fabric replacement, requiring their removal and reinstallation. This adds to the cost due to extra material, labour, and additional hardware. Similarly, zipper replacements often start around $0.89 per inch. But for very long zippers in items like tents or travel bags, we may offer a standardized price for feasibility and balance, which could be less per inch than the standard rate to provide a better value for larger repairs.

Common repairs & potential savings

While most jobs are unique, we do have some common repairs with general pricing. For instance, a small boat seat repair or replacement (a small box size) typically costs $75, including material replacement. Please note, this price does not include foam or wood backing replacement. If you decide to add more seats for repair after seeing the initial price, the cost per seat can often be reduced, offering you better value for multiple items.

Getting an accurate estimate

The most important thing to understand about our pricing is the value of detailed information. We often ask customers to provide photos of their items along with measurements and a description of the material. This allows us to give you an estimated quote. We'll always explain that the final price could be slightly higher or lower after a close-up inspection. Providing photos and details of what is needed is essential for the most accurate estimated quote.
